The mission of Calvary Baptist Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

Calvary Baptist Church is dedicated to helping Christians know WHAT they believe, WHY they believe it, HOW to live it, and HOW to share it by providing wise instruction from God’s Word, the Bible, about how to think and reason scripturally.

Calvary desires to help Christians grow and be transformed by the Holy Spirit rather than be conformed to the secular thinking of this world.  Our goal is to proclaim God’s holiness, teach His Word with clarity, live with integrity, and serve each other with charity. We offer diversified programs on Sunday morning and evening and other days of the week.

Alex pastored Hickory Tree Baptist Church in Balch Springs from 2008-2018. While at Hickory Tree, he also served as the Chaplain for the Balch Springs Police Department for 9 of those years. Prior to Hickory Tree, Alex served three churches as a Youth/Associate Pastor. In August of 2018, Alex accepted a full-time role as Ministry Associate in the Pastor/Church Relations department of the SBTC, helping pastors and churches with an emphasis in the pastor-mentor initiative. He previously served the SBTC as a part-time Field Ministry Strategist for four and a half years before taking the Ministry Associate position. Alex also serves as a Trustee at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is working on his BA in Biblical Studies at Criswell College. For fun, he is a stadium announcer for varsity football and baseball for Frisco ISD. Alex and his beautiful wife, Tabitha, have two children: Cody and Avery.
